"Eris Pluvia's" 1991 debut album was a real offering, and constituted another milestone on the long road of rock progressivo in Italia. Unfortunately, there wasn't a follow-up for a long time. 19 years passed before the release of "Third Eye Light". However, it wasn't the same band anymore, since founding members Alessandro Serri and Edmondo Romano, who had formed "Ancient Veil" in the meantime, weren't on board anymore. The latest release "Tales From Another Time" from 2019 sounds radically different. Gone are the enchanting baroque recorder arrangements, and all in all it's more in the vein of 70's "Pink Floyd". Frankly, I prefer "Ancient Veil", which sounds more like the rightful successor of the original "Eris Pluvia". Sven B. Schreiber (sbs)
